Erdogan phones UAE Leader to converse about Israel-Iran conflict

(MENAFN) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a phone call on Tuesday with United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, during which they addressed the escalating tensions between Israel and Iran, along with broader regional developments and bilateral relations.

According to official sources, Erdogan voiced concern over the growing violence fueled by Israeli strikes on Iran, warning that the resulting instability threatens the security of the entire region. He emphasized that the Middle East cannot bear the burden of another full-scale war.

Erdogan underscored the importance of pursuing diplomatic avenues to de-escalate the hostilities and reiterated that the solution to the Iranian nuclear issue lies in returning to the negotiating table.

He also cautioned against allowing the current crisis to overshadow the worsening humanitarian conditions in Gaza. If ignored, he warned, the situation could further deteriorate, potentially endangering the West Bank and Eastern Jerusalem through increased risks of occupation.
